Getting started

What is Dara Wallet?

Dara Wallet is a non-custodial crypto wallet provided by Dara, an independent third party. GETTR provides access to the wallet inside the app but does not operate it. Your private keys and recovery phrase are stored on your device. GETTR does not hold them and cannot access them.

Where do I find Dara Wallet?

Open GETTR Fi and tap the wallet card. You can also reach it from the wallet icon in the top bar on the home, search and notification pages, and from the livestream header.

What do I need before I start?

Your device must have a passcode or biometric unlock set up. If it does not, set one up in your device settings first.

How do I create a wallet?

1. Open Dara Wallet. The first time, a notice explains that the wallet is provided by Dara. Tap Continue.

2. Review Dara's Terms of Service and Privacy Policy, tick the box, then tap Continue.

3. Tap Create New Wallet.

4. Confirm with your biometric or device passcode.

5. Your wallet opens. If you have not backed up yet, the wallet home shows a reminder. Back up your recovery phrase before you receive any assets — see Your recovery phrase below.

How do I import a wallet I already have?

1. Open Dara Wallet. The first time, accept the notice about Dara and Dara's Terms of Service and Privacy Policy, as in steps 1 and 2 above.

2. Tap Import an existing wallet.

3. Tap Import with Secret Phrase.

匯入選擇頁

4. Type or paste your 12- or 24-word recovery phrase, then confirm. This screen cannot be captured in a screenshot or screen recording. If you paste the phrase, the app clears your clipboard — copies kept elsewhere, such as clipboard history or a note, are not removed.

5. Confirm with your biometric or device passcode. Your wallet opens and your token list appears.

Your recovery phrase

What is a recovery phrase?

Your recovery phrase is the only way to restore your wallet. Anyone who has it can move your assets.

Never share it with anyone, including anyone who says they are from GETTR or Dara. We will never ask you for it. Do not type it into a website, send it in a message or an email, or keep it in a photo, a screenshot or a note on your device.

How do I back up my recovery phrase?

1. Go to Settings > Backup, or tap Backup Now on the wallet home reminder.

2. On Save your recovery phrase, read the three statements and tick each one, then tap Back up now.

3. Confirm your identity with your biometric or device passcode.

4. Write the words down on paper, in order. This screen cannot be captured in a screenshot or screen recording.

5. Tap the words in the order shown to confirm you have saved them.

6. When you see You're all set, the backup is complete. Settings then shows Backed up.

Why does the app ask me to confirm my identity first?

Your recovery phrase can only be displayed after your biometric or device passcode is confirmed.

What happens if I remove the screen lock from my device?

Your wallet is erased from the device. Your assets remain on the blockchain, and only your recovery phrase can restore the wallet.

What happens if I lose my recovery phrase?

If you can still open your wallet, back up your recovery phrase now — see above. If you have lost both the phrase and access to the wallet, no one can restore it for you — not GETTR, and not Dara. Your assets remain on the blockchain, but they cannot be accessed without the phrase.

Does GETTR have a copy of my recovery phrase?

No. GETTR does not hold a copy of your recovery phrase and cannot see it.

Using your wallet

How do I receive?

1. On the wallet home, tap Receive.

2. On Select Asset, choose the asset you want to receive.

選擇資產

3. Your address and its QR code appear. Share the address, or let the sender scan the QR code. Tap Copy Address to copy it.

收款地址

Check that the asset and the network match what the sender is sending. The same address can be used on more than one network, so a matching address does not mean the network is correct. Assets sent on a network the wallet does not support may not be recoverable.

What are network fees?

Sending an asset costs a network fee, paid in that network's own currency. The fee is shown before you confirm. Receiving does not cost you a network fee.

How do I send?

1. On the wallet home, tap Send.

2. Choose the asset you want to send. Only assets you hold a balance of can be sent.

3. Enter the recipient address and the amount.

轉帳頁

4. Tap Review, check the recipient address, asset, network, amount and network fee, then confirm.

Transactions recorded on a blockchain are final. They cannot be reversed, cancelled or refunded, and GETTR cannot recover them for you.

Where do I see my past transactions?

Tap Activity on the wallet home.

Which assets can I hold?

Your token list shows the assets the wallet supports.

Why does the wallet ask me to unlock it again?

The wallet locks itself after a period of inactivity, and whenever your device is unlocked again. You can change this under Settings > Auto-Lock.

GETTR Points and GTR

Is the GTR in my wallet the same as my GETTR Points?

No. GETTR Points are shown as GTP in the app and are not a blockchain asset. GTR is a token on the blockchain and appears in Dara Wallet. They are different things.

Availability

Why can't I open Dara Wallet?

Dara Wallet is not available in every location. Where it is not available, the app shows a notice instead of opening the wallet. If you already have a wallet, your assets are not affected — they remain in your wallet and are not moved or frozen.

Your account and your wallet

Does deleting my GETTR account delete my wallet?

No. Your wallet and its recovery phrase are stored on your device, not on GETTR's servers. Deleting your GETTR account does not delete the wallet, and your digital assets remain on the blockchain. See How to delete accounts.

What happens if I delete the GETTR app?

Deleting the app removes the wallet data stored on your device. Reinstalling does not bring the wallet back on its own — you restore it by importing your recovery phrase. Without the phrase, the wallet cannot be restored by anyone. Your assets stay on the blockchain either way.

How do I remove the wallet from this device?

Before you remove it, make sure you have your recovery phrase written down. Go to Settings > Danger zone and confirm your identity. Removing the wallet from the device does not affect your assets on the blockchain, and you can restore it later with your recovery phrase. Without the phrase, the wallet cannot be restored by anyone.
