How to add/change profile and background pictures in the GETTR app?
To change your profile picture or background picture:
Tap on your avatar in the top left corner to enter "Profile".
Tap on "Edit Profile".
Tap on the camera icon at the avatar or background position.
Choose the image you like.
Crop the image to your desired size.
Tap "Done" in the top right corner.
On the "Edit Profile" page, tap "Save" in the top right corner.
Note: Ensure GETTR app has access to your photos before uploading.
How to add/change profile and background pictures in the GETTR web version?
Click on your profile picture at the top right corner to select "Profile" from the left navigation bar.
Click on "Edit Profile".
Click on the camera icon at the position of the profile picture or background.
Select and open your preferred image.
Crop the image using the slider to your liking.
Click "Done" at the top right corner.
On the "Edit Profile" page, click "Save" at the top right corner.
Requirements for profile picture and background picture dimensions and file types:
Profile picture: Minimum 20x20 pixels (recommended size 400x400 pixels).
Background picture: Recommended size 1500x500 pixels.
File types: PNG, GIF, or JPEG.
How to change other information in "Edit Profile"?
In "Edit Profile", you can change or add your display name, GETTR ID, bio (up to 160 characters), location, and website. After making changes or additions, click "Save" at the top right corner to ensure updates are saved.
What's the difference between display name and username?
Username: Your username is a unique identifier starting with @. It's unique and won't be duplicated by others. You can change your username up to four times per month.
Display name: Your display name appears on your profile. Unlike the username, display names can be non-unique and can be changed at any time.
How to select interests on GETTR?
In your profile, click on "Complete your profile" prompt and choose "Select your interests".
Select three or more interests to enhance your experience on GETTR.
Alternatively:
On the homepage, click your avatar, find and enter "Settings".
Choose "Content and privacy" or "Privacy", then go to "Interests".
