GTok Overview

What is GTok?

With GTok on GETTR you can create your own short entertaining vertical videos with our in-app video creator with access to unique filters and up to 100,000 songs to choose from.

GTok Functionalities?

You'll note GTok functionalities at the top right-hand side of the screen, accessible right on your recording screen just by clicking on either of them:

  1. Flip - Which allows access to the front and back camera on your phone. *Note, back camera offers a "Flash" option, but front camera does not.
  2. Timer - Which allows access for hands-free recording.
  3. Speed - Select the video speed of your recording. GTok offers 0.5x, 1x, 2x, and 3x speeds.
  4. Mic - You can mute/unmute your mic.

GTok Video Durations?

You can select to create video intervals of 15secs, 30secs, and 1min. Simply tap on the duration preference displayed right above the red record button to select the time duration you'd like.

How to Create a GTok?

Simply access your GETTR account from your GETTR App, click on the red "+" button at the bottom right-hand of the screen and select "Create GTok".

Next, you'll be prompted to allow permissions to access your photos. Once you've done that you'll be ready to create a GTok!

After you've recorded a video and pressed "Next", you'll have the option to:

  1. Rotate
  2. Split
  3. Trim
  4. Delete

Select the "checkmark" when you're ready to continue.

Next, you'll see the video you just created with a list of options displayed on the left-hand side of the screen:

  1. Stickers - Choose from an array of sticker options to add to your video, and you have the ability to choose which part of your video the Sticker/s will display and for how long.
  2. Text - Select this to add Text to your video, and you have the ability to choose which part of your video the Text/s will display.
  3. Captions - Select this to add Closed Captions to your video. *Please note your video must contain speech in order for GTok to synchronize captions.
  4. Effects - Select this if you'd like to add Effects to your video, and you have the ability to choose which part of your video the Effects will display.
  5. Masks - Select this if you'd like to add a Mask to your video, and you have the ability to choose which part of your video the Mask/s will display.
  6. Music - Select this if you'd like to add music to your video. You'll be able to add tracks from our music library, or record audio and adjust the volume.
  7. Time - Select this if you'd like to add Time Warp Effects to your video. We offer "slo mo" and "rapid".
  8. Filters - Select this if you'd like to add a Filter to your entire video. You can choose from an array of filters.
  9. Blur - Select this if you'd like to add a blur to your video and you can select the part of the video you'd like it added too. We offer blurs in shape of circle or square.
  10. Autocut- Select this if you'd like to compile multiple videos and photos from your photo gallery and add to your newly created video. GTok will do the work for you!

Select "Next" when you're ready to continue.

Lastly, you'll have the option to choose a thumbnail for your created video. You can select from different frames of your created video, or you can "choose from album", which allows you to select an image from your photo gallery.

Select "Done" and you'll have the options to "Describe your video" with a 200 character limit, select hashtags, select cover for your video, preview your video, and tag people.

Once you're ready, you can choose to "Save as Draft" for later, or "Post Gtok", which will post to your account/timeline.

How to upload an existing video or image to GTok

Simply access your GETTR account from your GETTR App, click on the red "+" button at the bottom right-hand of the screen and select "Create GTok".

Next, you'll be prompted to allow permissions to access your photos. Once you've done that you'll be ready to create a GTok!

  1. Select the 'Album" button at the bottom right-hand side of the screen. You'll then have the option to upload Videos or Images.
  2. Select the video or image you'd like to use and press "Next".
  3. After you've pressed "Next", you'll have the option to:

    1. Rotate
    2. Split
    3. Trim
    4. Delete
  4. Select the "checkmark" when you're ready to continue.
  5. Next, you'll see the video primate you uploaded on the screen with a list of options displayed on the left-hand side of the screen:
